How to Use Advanced Settings on Bumpa Loyalty

Aside from setting up how your customers can earn loyalty points and setting a limit to how many points they can earn per channel, you can do much more. 

You can choose to rename your points, set expiry dates for the points & set up multiple reminders to remind your customers to use them before they expire or when they’ve hit a points balance that could buy something tangible in your store. 

This article will show you the step-by-step process. 

NB: Advanced loyalty points settings are only available to Bumpreneurs on the Pro, Growth, Scale, and Premium plans. 

1. Open your Bumpa web app at app.getbumpa.com

2. At the Menu Bar on the left side of your screen, click on Loyalty Programs. 

3. Click on Points. 

4. Click on the Settings button on the top right of your dashboard. 

5. Choose to rename your points, toggle on loyalty points reminder and/or loyalty points validity period.  

6. Confirm your setup and save. 

Important Things To Note About Advanced Loyalty Settings. 

1. Points Expiration: The points expiration timeline resets every time your customer places a new order that earns loyalty points. For example, if your expiration is 12 months, and a customer earns loyalty points on January 1st, 2026, it means their points should expire on January 1st, 2027. If they place another order that qualifies for loyalty on Jan 5th, 2026, their new points expiration date becomes January 5th, 2027. 

2. Unused points reminder & expiry reminder: These cost Bumpa credits, and if you’ve exhausted them, they may not deliver to your customers. You may want to set a messaging balance threshold so that you get a reminder when you run low on credits. 

3. Tip for Loyalty Points Reminder: Figure out the balance that can buy an average item in your store and use that to determine the points balance you should use to set the reminder.  

4. Edit Anytime: You can edit your advanced loyalty settings anytime.
