How to Switch Your Instagram Account to a Professional Account (with pictures)

A professional business Instagram account is a must-have for any serious business on Instagram.

It is also one of the requirements needed to connect your Bumpa app to your Instagram account. 

This article will help you with two things: 

• Things you should know before switching your account. 

• How to switch to a professional Instagram account.

Things You Should Know Before Switching

• If you want to switch, it is best to switch from your Instagram app and not through your browser: Chrome, Safari, Opera Mini, etc.

• If you have multiple accounts, only switch the personal one you've been using for your business or the new one you want to use for your business.

• An Instagram business account gives you more Instagram features/options: e.g.: a Professional dashboard that shows you Instagram analytics, the ability to set up FAQs, access to Ad tools, and much more.

• A Business Account cannot be private, so if you still want to maintain your private page, then you can consider not switching or creating a totally different account for your business.

How to Switch to a Professional Account

• Open your Instagram app.

• Click on your Profile icon at the bottom of your screen. 

• Click on Edit Profile

• Scroll down and click on Switch to Professional account

• Click on Continue

• Select what best describes your business e.g.: Entrepreneur, Shopping & Retail etc.

• Click on Done

• Select Business under the Creator or Business page.

• Click on Next

• Review/Add your Contact Information. 

• You can decide to Display your contact info. 

• Click on Next

You will most likely see a screen that tells you to connect to a Facebook Page. 

It’s best to connect (if you already have a page) or create a Facebook Page if you don't have one already as this is also one of the requirements to connect to Instagram from Bumpa.
