If you’ve been on any social media platform this past weekend, then you already know what the gist is! As a proud woman and Nigerian myself, this is one story that has been so exciting and inspiring!
In Nigeria and even other countries, people are talking about Hilda Baci, a 27-year-old Nigerian and chef who has now unofficially broken the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cooking Marathon by an individual. On Monday morning, she smashed the current record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by Guinness World Record holder, Lata Tandon.
At the time of this article, she’s still going! Her initial target was set for 96 hours, but she has now surpassed it and is gunning for a new number; 100 hours. Talk about being a superwoman!
And she hasn’t been alone in her inspiring journey. Upon hearing about the feat she’s trying to achieve, Nigerians in Lagos started to troop out in their numbers to show support, standing in the rain and spending nights with her. Although her attempt has not been officially registered as a success, Nigerians couldn’t be prouder of her, and it’s very evident in the outpouring of support that has been witnessed both physically and on social media.
Amidst the excitement and celebration, there are valuable lessons that business owners can learn from Hilda's journey towards success.
