From the CEO's Desk - April, The Fresh Of Breath Air We All Need

As a business owner, a 3-day holiday can have its advantages.

At first glance, how do we hit the target for the week when three days out of a 5-day work week is a holiday?? But interestingly, we have seen Bumpreneurs make the most of the break; some of you were running sales, sending out packages in hundreds and continuing to respond to customers. The break gave your customers the breathing space to make that order they have left pending for weeks, it ensured delivery guys did not have a lot of issues as the road was free, and it also allowed some of my team members (including Gift and Dami) to take the short, fun trip to Olumo Rock in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The first quarter of the year has wrapped up its ups and downs, and it wasn’t the easiest time to run a business in Nigeria. Nigeria witnessed its most devastating economic collapse yet, and things had never looked bleaker. It felt like it would never end; truthfully, it hasn’t yet. But the beauty of April is the chance for a new season of bloom, new growth, and new opportunities. April is a breath of fresh air we all need.

And almost like the universe knew we needed it, the month started with a holiday and an opportunity to shed the stress of the past three months. There hasn’t been a day when I did not admire your tenacity as a business owner. Your perseverance these past three months is a testament to your strength, {First Name}.

It was also an interesting quarter for us. We released Bumpa Terminal, and I’m happy to share that it’s been achieving its goal: to help business owners and staff members confirm payments faster via WhatsApp, get a cheaper collection account for in-store and web bank transfers, and reconcile payments to orders easily. I shot a video showing what some Bumpreneurs say about Bumpa Terminal; please share it with other business owners.

We also had a major inventory upgrade to enable businesses with multiple locations to organise their inventory based on each location. This will provide more transparency on the influx, sales and performance of their products in each location.

Coming into Q2

As a business owner, one of the most important things to me is you. It has always been and still hasn’t changed. For the next quarter, one of the biggest focuses for me and the team is to improve your experience with Bumpa. A lot is going to happen and there’ll be more emails for that, but I’d love to start with the big focus of the month.
