You know how sometimes you just need to take a break from business?

Or you just decided to go on a work-free vacation, but your customers are still disturbing you with requests?

Or you're even doing an audit of your business, and you don't need extra sales coming through your website while auditing the old ones?

Well, this is what maintenance mode is about.

What is Maintenance Mode?

Maintenance mode is a feature you can use to make your Bumpa website inactive.

This basically means that when customers go to your website while it is n maintenance mode, they will not be able to buy products till you make it active again.

How to switch on Maintenance Mode

These are the steps to take to make your Bumpa website temporarily inactive:

  • Open the Bumpa app

  • Click on the More button at the bottom of your screen.

  • Click on Set up your store

  • Click on Maintenance Mode.

  • and that's it!


How to Switch Off Maintenance Mode

You can make your website active again, by unselecting the maintenance mode button.

Frequently Asked Questions

1) When I click on the button, how long does it take to become inactive?

Answer: Immediately. Once you click on the Maintenance mode button, you can go to your web browser and put in your website link, you'll see that your website will be inactive.

The same goes for when you turn it back to active.

2)Will it scatter my products on my website?

Answer: No. It will not.

When you make your website active again, you will find your product and layout the same way you left it.

3) Will it affect my customers?

Asides from the fact that they won't be able to purchase items while your website is active, there is nothing that will happen to your customers or app.

Tips on Using Maintenance Mode.

  • Make sure to announce to your customers on your social media pages with a post that you will be on a short break and your website will be inactive.

  • Use Bumpa messaging to inform your customers via SMS or email that you will be making your website inactive.

  • If you sell through channels other than your website, let your customers know that you will be taking orders through those channels.

  • If you have a date that you will make the website active again, you can add it to the information you tell your customers
